Oven Fried Smothered Pork Chops

Hello all…! I was in Keeva's Kitchen the other night and I had taste for some pork chops. I don't eat them often because I'm really not a pork chop fan so I decided to try something different to make them tender and flavorful.

Ingredients:

1 package of pork chops (about 6)
1 box of Kraft Extra Crispy Oven Fry - Pork
1 package of dry brown gravy mix
* black pepper
* garlic powder
* onion powder
* Worcestershire sauce
* 1 cup of water (for gravy)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Season pork chops lightly with black pepper and garlic powder. Be careful not to over season because the Crispy Oven Fry is already seasoned. The cooking directions on the Oven Fry box calls for coating the pork chops with egg but I skipped that step. Coat the pork chops with the oven fry and place them in the pan. Let the pork chops cook uncovered in the oven for about 30 minutes.

While the pork chops are baking, follow the package directions to prepare the brown gravy on the stove. Add about 2-3 dashes of Worcestershire and sprinkle some onion powder into the brown gravy. Stir and let simmer. After the pork chops have baked for about 30 minutes, evenly pour the brown gravy mixture over the pork chops, cover the pan with foil and reduce the oven temperature to about 300 degrees. Let the smothered pork chops cook for another 20 - 30 minutes. I recommend that you serve them over rice or with mashed potatoes. And enjoy…! *nom*

Welcome…again…!

Hey everybody. :) Welcome to my virtual kitchen. I posted a welcome message earlier today but I think I erased it in attempts to post my first recipe. I am a first time blogger so please bear with me. LoL.

After numerous recipe requests and suggestions to post my pretty food pictures from some friends, I have made Keeva's Kitchen a "thing". As I get started, I will post some older pictures and recipes as well as anything new that I try that's blog-worthy.

Stay tuned and get ready to *nom*.

Shrimp Scampi

1lb shrimp, peeled & deveined
1 package of mini penne pasta
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp lemon pepper seasoning
1 tsp italian seasoning
2 tbsp minced garlic
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
1/2 cup of white wine (i used moscato)
lemon juice (like 4 squirts)
1 tbsp parsley, chopped
grated parmesan cheese
1 green onion (optional)

Bring a pot of water to a boil (make sure you add a little evoo to your water). Once the water comes to a boil put in the pasta. Cook until al dente. In a skillet, on medium heat add butter and olive oil cook until butter is melted (about 1 minute). Then add the lemon pepper seasoning, italian seasoning, garlic and red pepper flakes. Let this marry for a few minutes and make sure that the butter and garlic do not burn!

Add white wine to the pan and stir. Let the wine cook out of the dish about 5 minutes then add shrimp. Cover and cook on medium for 2-3 minutes. Sprinkle the fresh parsley in the pan, sprinkle a little grated parmesan cheese and mix everything well. Remove the pan from the heat. Serve. Nom.
